There's still a chance Freese could be officially activated from the DL on Monday, but at this point it look as though he'll be unavailable against the A's. The third baseman should step in as the No. 1 option upon his activation, though Kaleb Cowart, who's starting Monday, and Kyle Kubitza could cut into his playing time over the season's final month.
