MLB Today: Greinke puts streak on line, Hamels and Cueto showcase for trade

A look at what's happening all around the major leagues Saturday:

PITCHIN' PAPA

Zack Greinke will look to build on his streak of 42 2/3 scoreless innings on Sunday against the New York Mets. The Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander was scratched from his Friday start when his wife, Emily, went into labor. Mrs. Greinke tweeted a photo of the couple's first child prior to the series opener against the Mets.

HAMELS HEADED OUT?

Cole Hamels makes what could be his last start for the Phillies when he pitches at Wrigley Field against the Cubs. The left-hander is 5-7 with a 3.91 ERA in 19 starts, and there's been a lot of speculation that Philadelphia will deal the former World Series MVP before Friday's trade deadline.

RED HOT

Cincinnati ace Johnny Cueto is drawing a lot of attention as the trade deadline nears. He pitches, perhaps for the last time with the Reds, at Colorado.

MEET HIM IN ST. LOUIS

Braves righty Shelby Miller returns to St. Louis to pitch for the first time against the team that traded him last November. Miller is 5-6 with a 2.33 ERA in 19 starts, and made the NL All-Star team this month. The Cardinals sent him to Atlanta in the offseason in a deal for outfielder Jason Heyward.

DOBY TRIBUTE

The Indians will unveil a bronze statue at one of the entrances to Progressive Field honoring Hall of Famer Larry Doby, the first black player in the American League. His first game was July 5, 1947, just months after Jackie Robinson played for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Doby was a seven-time All-Star outfielder. His No. 14 was retired by the Indians in 1994, 47 years to the day that he signed with Cleveland. He died in 2003.
