Here's what's happening in Major League Baseball right now:

A KEY MATCHUP

San Francisco Giants rookie Chris Heston is set to start in Miami, fresh off being honored at Marlins Park. He's from Palm Bay, Florida, about 170 miles up the highway, and was presented with the keys to the city by its mayor to celebrate Heston's recent no-hitter against the Mets.

DECISION TIME

Houston Astros rookie Vincent Velasquez tries again for his first win in the majors. He's started four times since making his big league debut in June and hasn't gotten a decision in any of them. The 23-year-old righty has been helped by strikeouts but hurt by walks going into this outing vs. the visiting Royals.

ON THE MEND

Brewers outfielder Khris Davis begins a rehab assignment at Class A Wisconsin. He's been on the disabled list since May 31 because of torn cartilage in his right knee.

GET OVER IT

Minnesota Twins righty Trevor May tries to get past the worst start of his young career. He retired only one batter in Milwaukee last Friday, giving up six runs on six hits in a 10-4 loss. He also had a throwing error. He's matched in Cincinnati against Johnny Cueto, who's making his sixth start since returning from an inflamed elbow.
