The Los Angeles Angels have recalled catcher Carlos Perez from Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday.
Analysis:
Perez has gotten off to a great start with the bat in the minors, slashing .361/.418/.556 with two homers, 12 RBI, and as many walks as strikeouts (seven). The 24-year-old will get his first taste of big league action and will serve as the backup behind the plate to Chris Iannetta with Drew Butera designated for assignment in a corresponding move.
