Analysis:
Rather than keeping Pineda on track for a turn earlier in the week against the light-hitting Rays, manager Joe Girardi decided it was best to save the right-hander for an outing against the powerful Red Sox lineup. While the change isn't necessarily helpful for Pineda's fantasy owners, it illustrates the high regard in which he's held. Though he has a rather pedestrian 3.86 ERA over 25.2 innings, Pineda's sterling 27:2 K:BB ratio suggest he's due for some improvement in his traditional numbers in the near future.
