Teixeira crushes pair of 2-run homers to halt Mets' win streak
The New York Yankees have drawn first blood in this year's edition of the Subway Series with the New York Mets.
Mark Teixeira belted a pair of two-run home runs, and Michael Pineda threw 7 2/3 innings of one-run ball, as the Yankees prevailed 6-1 over the Mets on Friday night.

Teixeira's first blast ended an 18 1/3 scoreless innings streak for Mets starter Jacob deGrom, who was rocked for six runs and three home runs over five innings of work.
Pineda was dominant to improve to 3-0 on the campaign, yielding five hits and striking out seven without issuing a walk.
The Bronx Bombers have now won four straight games and seven of their last eight, while the Mets were denied a franchise-record 12-game winning streak with the loss.
The Mets will send Matt Harvey to the mound for the second game of the series Saturday, while the Yankees counter with CC Sabathia.
