Diamondbacks' Tomas records 1st major league hit

Arizona Diamondbacks slugger Yasmany Tomas crossed one career milestone off his list Sunday.
Tomas, who was recalled from Triple-A Reno on Wednesday, collected a pinch-hit single in the ninth inning for his first career major league hit.
The 24-year-old Cuban agreed to a six-year, $68.5-million deal this winter but the Diamondbacks had him start the season in the minors to work on his conditioning and become more comfortable defensively.
Tomas was 0-for-3 heading into Sunday's game, appearing as a pinch-hitter in each of those appearances.
