Analysis:
Capuano hasn't undergone much activity since suffering a quad strain early in spring training, so Thursday's session will be a significant step forward if he makes it through without incident. Manager Joe Girardi indicated that the 36-year-old is still about a month away, so he'll likely be out until mid-to-late May. Adam Warren has been filling in as the fifth starter in his absence, and with Ivan Nova slated to return toward the end of May or beginning of June, it's unclear what role Capuano will fill when healthy.
