The Tampa Bay Rays' depleted rotation received some relief on Tuesday after acquiring right-hander Erasmo Ramirez from the Seattle Mariners in exchange for left-hander Mike Montgomery

Ramirez, 24, owns a 7-12 record and 4.62 ERA across three seasons in the majors and went 1-6 with a 5.26 ERA and 60 strikeouts in 75 1/3 innings in 2014.

Montgomery has spent the past seven seasons in the minors after being selected in the first round of the 2008 draft. The 25-year-old spent all of last season with Triple-A Durham, going 10-5 with a 4.29 ERA and 98 strikeouts in 126 innings.

The Rays' rotation has been decimated by injuries already this season, with Alex Colome, Matt Moore, Drew Smyly and Alex Cobb all recovering from different ailments.
