Taijuan Walker: Likely Wins Fifth-Starter Job
Walker likely has won the fifth-starter job as Roenis Elias is not listed on the next round of Cactus League starts, the Seattle Times reports.
Analysis:
The Mariners have not named a winner yet, but the final spring schedule is a pretty good indication as the team sets up its rotation for the regular season. Walker has not allowed a run in five starts this spring, striking out 19 in 18 innings. He showed a mid-90s fastball, a nasty changeup and good breaking pitches. Based on his ADP, he looks like a good value in most drafts.
