The Los Angeles Dodgers bullpen suffered a serious blow Friday.

Right-hander Brandon League will miss at least a couple months with a right shoulder injury, manager Don Mattingly revealed.

League saw a pair of doctors Friday and it appears he'll avoid surgery, however. He will be completely shut down for at least three weeks.

The 32-year-old reliever was poised to play a bigger role in the bullpen to begin the season due to the foot injury to closer Kenley Jansen.

League posted a respectable 2.57 ERA across 63 appearances for the Dodgers last season.
