Toronto Blue Jays left-hander Brett Cecil had his scheduled appearance during Friday's game called off as the result of a sore shoulder.
"His shoulder is a little tender," manager John Gibbons told Shi Davidi of Sportsnet. "We don’t think it’s a big deal but no use pushing it right now."
Cecil, who pitched during the team's intrasquad game on Monday, enters the spring as a potential replacement for former closer Casey Janssen.
The 28-year-old posted a 2.70 ERA, five saves and 76 strikeouts in 53 1/3 innings last season.
