Wheeler, who missed Saturday's workout with strep throat, was back at Mets camp Sunday, ESPN New York reports.
Analysis:
Wheeler enters camp looking to build off his impressive second half and improve his control. In his first 16 starts last season, Wheeler went 3-8 with a 4.45 ERA. In his 16 starts to close the season, he was 8-3 with a 2.71 ERA, a performance he believes was due to not overthrowing, as he did when he was fresh to start the year. Wheeler's 4.17 pitches per plate appearance was second among 88 qualified pitchers a year ago, just behind Jake Odorizzi. If Wheeler can reduce that pitch count while still remaining effective, he should take a big leap forward in 2015.
