Former White Sox scout, Cubs outfielder Gary Woods dies at 60

Chicago White Sox scout and former Cubs outfielder Gary Woods died unexpectedly Thursday at the age of 60 at his home in California, the team confirmed Friday.
The cause of death is still unknown.
Woods, most recently a scout in the White Sox system that covered the Southern California region, played nine major league seasons with the Oakland Athletics, Toronto Blue Jays, Houston Astros and Cubs.
Woods owned a .243 career batting average in 1,032 at-bats.
Details on funeral services will be announced at a later time.
