David Aardsma, the beleaguered reliever who didn't pitch in the major leagues last season, will hold a showcase for interested teams next Monday as he looks to revive his career.

"(Aardsma) is looking to showcase added velocity after a change in mechanics and an extremely intense offseason workout regimen," Aardsma's agent, Jamie Murphy, told Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.

Aardsma collected 69 saves with a 2.90 ERA and 25.9 percent strikeout rate with the Seattle Mariners from 2009-2010, but the 33-year-old has been unable to replicate his past success since undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2011.

Aardsma, a first-round pick in the 2003 draft, made just one appearance in the majors in 2012 and managed a 4.31 ERA with a 1.46 WHIP over 43 outings with the New York Mets the following season. Though he spent the entire 2014 campaign in the minors, Aardsma fashioned an impressive 1.29 ERA with 36 strikeouts in 35 innings with the Memphis Redbirds of the Triple-A Pacific Coast League.
