Murphy agreed to a one-year, $8 million contract with the Mets on Friday, avoiding arbitration, the Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis:
Murphy put together another good season for the Mets in 2014, batting .289/.332/.403 with nine home runs, 57 RBI and 13 stolen bases. He has been very consistent at the plate over the past four seasons, and there's no reason he shouldn't have another productive season as the Mets' second baseman in 2015.
