Mariners avoid arbitration with 5 players including Austin Jackson

SEATTLE - The Seattle Mariners have agreed to one-year deals with outfielders Dustin Ackley, Justin Ruggiano and Austin Jackson; relief pitcher Charlie Furbush; and first baseman Logan Morrison.
Following Friday's deals, relief pitcher Tom Wilhelmsen was Seattle's remaining player in arbitration.
Ruggiano is expected to split time in right field with Seth Smith. Jackson, acquired before last July's trade deadline, is the expected starter in center field with Ackley in left field.
Morrison will go into spring training as Seattle's presumptive starter at first base after making the move to the position on a nearly permanent basis last season.
