Analysis:

Though Machado's injury came in the middle of a pennant chase, the injury occurred early enough in that his 4-to-6 month recovery time should have him ready for spring training. It was the second season in a row that Machado suffered a blown out knee. It could be coincidence, or Machado could be on the fringe of gaining notoriety for injury concerns.
