Report: Twins 'pushing' for deal with Ervin Santana
Minnesota Twins general manager Terry Ryan arrived in San Diego for the winter meetings resolved to improve his starting rotation.
It appears Ryan may have accomplished his goal Wednesday afternoon, as Joel Sherman of the New York Post reported that Ervin Santana is headed to Minnesota.
"Hear Ervin Santana is going to Twins," tweeted Sherman. He deleted the tweet shortly thereafter, instead emphasizing that the Twins are "pushing" to get a deal done with Santana.
Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports added moments later, however, that Santana is still negotiating with several other teams, and Ryan wouldn't confirm a deal when MLB.com's Rhett Bollinger broached the topic.
