Abreu will see the majority of the starts at first base in 2015, with Adam LaRoche only expected to play about two games a week at the position, ESPNChicago.com reports.

Analysis:

LaRoche's signing last week created some uncertainty as to Abreu's role at first base, as LaRoche grades out as a superior defender, but manager Robin Ventura provided some clarity Tuesday. He suggested Abreu has earned the right to remain at first base, adding that "part of it is you want to keep him comfortable," so look for LaRoche to serve as the primary DH and only see in the neighborhood of 50-60 games at first.
