Report: David Ross generating 'plenty of interest'

Veteran catcher David Ross may not have to look too far to find a new job, as the 37-year-old is generating "plenty of interest" on the open market, according to Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish.
Several teams remain eager to add depth behind the plate this winter, and Ross represents one of just four catchers still available in free agency who provided positive value in 2014.
Ross, however, continued to regress at the plate last season, hitting just .184/.260/.368 (75 OPS+) with seven home runs and a 33.9 percent strikeout rate in 50 games for the Boston Red Sox. The 13-year veteran also struggled to contain the running game, retiring a career-low 22 percent of potential base-stealers, but ranked among the game's best pitch-framers in 2014.
