Padres' Ross: 'My arm's feeling great'
After missing the final week of the season due to a forearm strain, San Diego Padres right-hander Tyson Ross fully anticipates to be healthy for next season.
"My arm's feeling great," Ross told Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union Tribune. "Just a little bit of time and rest healed it up nicely. I'm back on schedule with my training, just getting ready for spring."
Ross was fantastic in 31 starts last season, though his 13-14 record didn't necessarily indicate it. In 195 2/3 innings, the 27-year-old posted a 2.81 ERA and 1.21 WHIP while striking out 195.
San Diego is reportedly entertaining offers for starters Andrew Cashner, Ian Kennedy and Ross, though the latter has expressed his desire to remain with the Padres.
"I love San Diego. It's been really good for my career," Ross said. "I would love to continue playing here. Obviously there's change coming about (this offseason), but we have a couple really good pieces in place already."
