The Boston Red Sox have claimed Juan Francisco off waivers from the Toronto Blue Jays, the team announced Wednesday.
Francisco, 27, slashed .220/.291/.456 with 16 home runs in 320 at-bats for the Blue Jays last season.
Francisco will provide depth at third base for the Red Sox, who are also attempting to lure Pablo Sandoval to Boston.
