Former All-Star Brook Jacoby becomes Jays' coach
TORONTO (AP) Former All-Star Brook Jacoby has been hired as hitting coach of the Toronto Blue Jays.
The 54-year-old was Cincinnati's hitting coach from 2007-13 and Texas' minor league hitting coordinator last season.
Jacoby played 11 seasons in the major leagues with Atlanta, Cleveland and Oakland. He was an AL All-Star with the Indians in 1986 and `90.
He replaces Kevin Seitzer, who left Toronto last month to become Atlanta's hitting coach.
