Athletics' Scott Kazmir unfazed by trade rumors
The Oakland Athletics are reportedly prepared to entertain offers for left-hander Scott Kazmir this winter, but the 30-year-old doesn't seem all that preoccupied with trade rumors.
"(It's) part of the game," Kazmir said Thursday morning on MLB Network Radio. "My focus is getting ready for the next season and it should be to the A's. That's all I can do."
Kazmir is entering the final season of a two-year, $22-million deal, and with both Jarrod Parker and A.J. Griffin slated to return from their respective Tommy John surgeries at some point in 2015, the club could look to trade Kazmir.
A three-time All-Star, Kazmir crafted a 3.55 ERA (105 ERA+) with a 1.16 WHIP across 32 starts in 2014, posting the lowest walk rate of his career (6.4 percent) while allowing just 16 home runs over 190 1/3 innings.
