Plans changed fast for Minnesota Twins third baseman Trevor Plouffe.
Plouffe underwent surgery Monday on his fractured left forearm just days after he announced he would not be going under the knife. Despite the operation, Plouffe is expected to be ready for spring training.
The Twins' 2004 first-round pick was 3.6 wins above replacement, according to Fangraphs, during a career year at the plate.
