After missing the entire season with a shoulder injury, Texas Rangers second baseman Jurickson Profar will likely not pick up a bat for the remainder of the calendar year.

It's been a disappointing 2014 for the 21-year-old, to say the least. He suffered a torn muscle in his right shoulder in March and was expected to miss 10-to-12 weeks, before reinjuring it rolling out of bed in late May.

Profar's latest setback came on Sunday, when he felt soreness while throwing and was subsequently ruled out for the Arizona Fall League.
