New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira is sidelined with wrist pain for Tuesday's tilt in Tampa Bay.

Teixeira underwent season-ending surgery in 2013 to repair a tendon in his right wrist and has been bothered by inflammation in the area for most of this year. Yankees manager Joe Girardi said before Tuesday's game that Teixeira will inform the team when he is ready to return.

The 34-year-old slugger has been slowed by a variety of injuries this season, and is hitting a career-low .218/.320/.403 over 115 games.
