Miami Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton suffered multiple facial injuries after being hit in the face with a pitch last week. The facial fractures and dental damage underscored what was an ugly scene, as Stanton was stretchered off the field following the incident.
On Tuesday, after a few days of recovery, Stanton posted a photo of the immediate impact and recovery progress on his banged-up mug.

In spite of the wounds, Stanton remains adamant he will return to the field before the season ends.
