Boston Red Sox utilityman Brock Holt has impressed with his versatile skill set this season, but the 26-year-old wasn't quite able to avoid second baseman Dustin Pedroia while chasing down a ground ball during the ninth inning of Monday's series opener against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Holt entered Monday's contest with just seven career starts at shortstop, and hadn't logged an inning at the position at the major-league level until this season.
