The Los Angeles Angels bolstered their bullpen depth on Thursday, acquiring reliever Vinnie Pestano from the Cleveland Indians, the club announced.

Once considered among the premier relievers in the game, Pestano has struggled in recent years and has spent the majority of the 2014 campaign at Triple-A Columbus.

Limited to just 13 appearances with the Indians this season, Pestano crafted a 5.00 ERA with a 1.56 WHIP while notching 13 strikeouts across nine innings. However, the 29-year-old fashioned a 2.45 ERA across 137 appearances between 2011-2012 and boasts a career 28.8 percent strikeout rate.
