The New York Yankees added more offensive help Thursday, moments before the non-waiver trade deadline closed.

Prado's acquisition represents New York's second transaction of the day after trading Kelly Johnson to the Boston Red Sox for shortstop Stephen Drew.

Prado, 30, started 98 games at third base for the D-Backs and hit .270/.317/.370 with five home runs and 43 RBIs in 403 at-bats this season.
