The Boston Red Sox reportedly completed a third trade on Thursday afternoon, sending left-handed reliever Andrew Miller to the Baltimore Orioles for minor-league pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez, according to MASN's Roch Kubatko.
Miller, a first-round pick in 2006, will help fortify a bullpen that has been remarkable effective this season, fashioning a 3.36 ERA with a tidy 7.6 percent walk rate, the third-best mark among American League clubs.
The 29-year-old owns a career-best 2.34 ERA with a 0.90 WHIP through 50 appearances this season, producing a gaudy 40.6 percent strikeout rate while holding left-handed hitters to a measly .420 OPS in 65 plate appearances.
