Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Starling Marte is headed to the disabled list.
Marte was placed on the seven-day concussion DL on Wednesday, five days after taking a pitch to the helmet against the Colorado Rockies.
The team initially ruled out a concussion, instead referring to the injury as "head trauma".
Marte got one at-bat on Sunday against the Rockies and four more on Monday against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
He also suffered a head injury in June after colliding with Tampa Bay Rays infielder Sean Rodriguez.
He is hitting .255/.328/.385 with five home runs, 34 RBI, 40 runs scored and 21 stolen bases in 86 games.
