Los Angeles Angels phenom Mike Trout admitted Monday he's seriously ambivalent about participating in the upcoming Home Run Derby at Target Field on July 14, reports's Alden Gonzalez.

The 22-year-old certainly deserves to be included in the competition, as he has blasted 18 home runs through 76 games this season while managing a .296 isolated power, the third-best mark in the majors.

Angels manager Mike Scioscia, meanwhile, indicated that he will not discourage Trout from participating.
