Drew Smyly: Struggles Vs. Astros While Battling Infection
Smyly, who gave up four runs over 2.1 innings in Sunday's start against Houston, is dealing with an upper respiratory infection, MLive's James Schmehl reports.
Analysis:
Smyly was able to take the hill, but manager Brad Ausmus acknowledged that the southpaw was likely affected by the illness. While his status is worth keeping an eye on, Smyly will likely be able to make his next scheduled start Friday against the Rays.
