Report: A's acquire Kyle Blanks from Padres
The Oakland Athletics' widely speculated pursuit of Kyle Blanks appears to have culminated, as the club reportedly acquired the 27-year-old outfielder from the San Diego Padres on Thursday, according to Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union-Tribune.
Kyle Blanks has been traded for OF Jake Goebbert and PTBNL, according to a source.

Blanks, a 42nd-round pick in 2004, endured a turbulent tenure in San Diego that featured brief stints with the Padres in each of the last six seasons, though he never appeared in more than 88 games in a single campaign.
Over parts of six seasons with the Padres, Blanks hit .228/.310/.401 (100 OPS+) with 28 home runs in 239 games. Though he logged five games with the Padres this season, Blanks has spent the majority of the campaign with Triple-A El Paso, where he hit .265/.364/.651 with nine homers in 27 contests.
