Jameis Winston's father says he 'dropped the ball' on supervision
Jameis Winston's father says he regrets not doing a better job of supervising his son.
Winston was given a citation last week for shoplifting $32 of crab legs and crawfish from a Tallahassee, Fla. grocery store.
Antonor Winston hopes it was an honest mistake.
"We hope so," he told USA TODAY Sports. "Not only him. I think it should show the university and us, I think we probably kind of dropped the ball on that a little bit."
The younger Winston performed 20 hours of community service after the incident.
He texted his father recently and tried to put a positive spin on things.
I know what doesn't kill you makes you stronger actually being suspended was the best days of my life!
