Reds hope Latos can throw off mound within a week
Reds right-hander Mat Latos, the increasingly embattled hurler who has yet to appear in a single game this season, is poised to take another step within the next several days in his recovery from an elbow strain, reports John Fay of the Cincinnati Enquirer.
#reds hope to have Latos throwing off the mound within a week. Price said Latos won't "be starting square one."

Latos, who underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus this offseason, appeared destined to rejoin Cincinnati's rotation after a solid rehab start at the beginning of April, but elbow soreness prevented him from making another outing. A subsequent MRI revealed no structural damage, though it did indicate a flexor strain.
Latos says he won't rush it. Been throwing 75 feet. "If I'm back in mid to late May that would be fantastic," he said.
