Wood gave up lead-off homers in the first inning in two of his first three starts. Burnett learned Monday that he has an inguinal hernia and will pitch through it this season.

Cleveland Indians at Detroit Tigers - 1:08 p.m ET

RHP Danny Salazar vs. RHP Justin Verlander

Salazar gave up five earned runs in 3 2/3 innings while striking out 10 in his last start. 

Toronto Blue Jays at Minnesota Twins - 1:10 p.m ET

RHP R.A. Dickey (1-2) vs. RHP Kyle Gibson (2-0)

Dickey was plagued by home runs in 2013 - his 35 were the second-most allowed by any MLB pitcher last year.

RHP Dustin McGowan (1-1) vs. RHP Mike Pelfrey (0-2)

Pelfrey has offered up nine earned runs in 10 1/3 innings, skyrocketing his ERA to 7.84 in his first two starts.

RHP Erasmo Ramirez (1-2) vs. RHP Tanner Scheppers (0-1)

Scheppers has a 5.25 ERA in his last two starts, but owns a 1.69 ERA in 11 relief appearances against the Mariners.

Los Angeles Dodgers at San Francisco Giants - 3:45 p.m ET

LHP Hyun-Jin Ryu (2-1) vs. LHP Madison Bumgarner (2-0)

Bumgarner hit a grand slam in his last outing, but the added focus shouldn't phase him against L.A. The lefty went 3-1 in 2013 against the Dodgers with a 1.93 ERA.

Colorado Rockies at San Diego Padres - 6:40 p.m ET

LHP Franklin Morales (0-1) vs. RHP Ian Kennedy (1-2)

Kennedy allowed four runs in the first four innings of his last outing.

Milwaukee Brewers at Pittsburgh Pirates - 7:05 p.m ET

RHP Yovani Gallardo (2-0) vs. RHP Edinson Volquez (0-0)

Gallardo only has one loss in his last 12 starts, and owns an 0.96 ERA early in the 2014 season.

St. Louis Cardinals at Washington Nationals - 7:05 p.m ET

RHP Adam Wainwright (2-1) vs. RHP Taylor Jordan (0-1)

Wainwright hasn't pitched fewer than seven innings in any of his 2014 starts. Bryce Harper, who is dealing with quad issues, is Wainwright's biggest foe - batting .545 in 11 at-bats.

New York Yankees at Tampa Bay Rays - 7:10 p.m ET

LHP CC Sabathia (1-2) vs. LHP David Price (2-0)

Sabathia has 21 strikeouts in 19 innings of work, but allowed two home runs in a four-run frame in his last outing.

Boston Red Sox at Chicago White Sox - 8:10 p.m ET

LHP Jon Lester (1-2) vs. LHP Chris Sale (3-0)

The Red Sox don't give much trouble to Sale. They're 3-for-25 against him with a .214 OBP as a team.

Kansas City Royals at Houston Astros - 8:10 p.m ET

RHP James Shields (0-2) vs. RHP Scott Feldman (2-0)

Feldman was just reinstated from the bereavement list after the death of his father and returns to a solid 2014 resume. He threw seven scoreless innings against Texas, and leads the Majors in opponent batting average (.106).
