Agent Scott Boras: Stephen Drew has 3-year, $39-million offer on the table

Only Boras and Drew know if the offer actually exists from a mystery team, while the tandem continues to try and strike a deal with the Tigers. It could be Boras' way of enticing Detroit to make a multi-year offer to Drew, after the free-agent shortstop reportedly lowered his expectations to a one-year, $14 million deal.

Drew will likely wait to sign any deal until after Opening Day, so that he will be an unrestricted free agent next off-season with no compensation attached.
