The Cubs reportedly augmented their outfield depth on Wednesday, agreeing to a minor-league deal with Chris Coghlan, who was non-tendered by the Marlins earlier this offseason, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.

Selected thirty-sixth overall in the 2006 draft, Coghlan's career got off to an auspicious start, as he claimed National League Rookie of the Year honors in his inaugural campaign.  However, Coghlan has struggled mightily in each subsequent season, as he's hit just .242/.307/.352 with 12 home runs over the last four years.
