Report: Padres sign P Blaine Boyer
Blaine Boyer is on a path to return to the majors, signing a minor-league contract with the San Diego Padres.
The right handed pitcher spent last season in Japan, playing for the Hanshin Tigers. He was last in the majors in 2011, although he only pitched 6.2 innings, going 0-2 and posting a 10.8 ERA. In 2010, he went 3-2 for the Mets in 57 innings, with a 4.26 ERA.
