The Mets' active offseason continued on Wednesday, as the club reportedly agreed to terms with veteran right-hander Bartolo Colon on a two-year deal, according to Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal.

Colon, who turns 41 in May, continued his late-career resurgence in 2013, posting a 2.65 ERA with a 1.17 WHIP over 30 starts with the Athletics. A strike-throwing machine, Colon averaged just 1.37 walks per nine innings last season, the fourth-best mark among qualified starters.
A 16-year veteran, Colon brings some much-needed experience to a predominantly young Mets rotation that will be without ace Matt Harvey for the entire 2014 season as he recovers from Tommy John surgery.
