Report: Pirates, Volquez agree to one-year deal
The Pirates appear to have found their next reclamation project, according to Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal, who notes that the club came to an agreement Wednesday with erratic right-hander Edinson Volquez on a one-year deal.
The 30-year-old, who was released by the Padres in August, posted a 5.71 ERA with a 1.59 WHIP across 32 starts and one relief appearance in 2013, averaging 4.1 walks and 7.5 strikeouts per nine innings.
