Red Sox add Ottavino on minor-league deal

The Boston Red Sox signed veteran reliever Adam Ottavino to a minor-league deal that includes an invite to spring training, the team announced Tuesday.
Ottavino, 39, made 60 appearances out of the New York Mets' bullpen in 2024. He pitched to a 4.34 ERA and 1.29 WHIP with 70 strikeouts in 56 innings.
The righty previously pitched for the Red Sox in 2021.
If Ottavino makes Boston's roster out of camp, he profiles as an experienced arm capable of pitching in a variety of situations.
He owns a 3.49 ERA (127 ERA+) and 10.4 K/9 across a 14-year MLB career that also includes stops with the Colorado Rockies, New York Yankees, and St. Louis Cardinals.
