The Phillies announced he was removed from the game with a left hand contusion, per Alex Coffey of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
"Everything is good," Suárez said through an interpreter, per The Associated Press. "Have to thank God on this one."
Phillies manager Rob Thomson said postgame that X-rays were negative, but it's uncertain if Suárez can make his next start.
"Feel pretty lucky right now," Thomson said, according to MLB.com's Matt Gelb.
Suárez was relieved by right-hander José Ruiz to start the top of the third inning. The Phillies bullpen combined to hold the Cardinals to one run on five hits in a 6-1 win.
The 28-year-old Suárez has been one of baseball's best starting pitchers so far this season. He's 9-1 with a league-leading 1.70 ERA and 0.80 WHIP over 74 innings.
