GIF: Todd Frazier impersonates Brian Wilson in Reds' walk off

Brain Wilson revealed the meaning of his iconic post-save action to the Mercury News more than five years ago. Besides acknowledging his late father, Wilson's well-known arm-crossing 'X' is a gesture of faith:

It’s all positive praise. It’s not for showboating. It’s not to start an epidemic. It’s just me getting a quick message out to the world and to Christ and that’s it....What more perfect time to display my faith than at the end of a game?

Cincinnati Reds third baseman Todd Frazier claims he didn't get the same memo as everyone else in Major League Baseball.

"I had no clue about that," Frazier said to MLB.com on Sunday. "I was going to talk to him. I don't know if he got the message or not. I wanted to square that up because I'm not that type of player."

In the midst of the Reds' walk-off celebration, Frazier appears to throw up his hands in a pretty convincing mockery of Wilson's own gesture.

Frazier delivered the winning single that drove in Billy Hamilton on Saturday night. Wilson threw the ill-fated pitch in the 10th inning.

"Me and [Reds left fielder Xavier Paul], we've got a thing going on where we also [cross our arms]. I guess my hands were in a certain way," Frazier said. "I wasn't trying to mock anybody."

There's not much guesswork -- his hands were in a certain way.

Frazier said he would try to talk to the Dodgers' pitcher during Sunday's batting practice, but everyone knows when you say you'll 'try' to do something or 'try' to show up at your friend's party, you probably aren't going to.
