Baltimore Orioles right-hander Kyle Bradish will miss the start of the season with a UCL sprain, according to Baltimore Banner's Danielle Allentuck.

Bradish is set to receive a PRP injection and will begin a throwing progression on Friday.

The 27-year-old enjoyed a breakout season for the Orioles in 2023, finishing fourth in AL Cy Young voting. He posted a 12-7 record with a 2.83 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, and 168 strikeouts across 168 2/3 innings.

Left-hander John Means is also likely to miss Opening Day, as he's a month behind schedule after a flare-up in his elbow, general manager Mike Elias said, according to Allentuck.

The Orioles acquired 2021 NL Cy Young Corbin Burnes from the Milwaukee Brewers earlier in the offseason to bolster the rotation. With the absences of Bradish and Means, the Orioles have two openings in the rotation behind Burnes, Grayson Rodriguez, and Dean Kremer.
