Melancon will continue serving as the Pirates' closer in the near term despite the return of Jason Grilli (forearm).
Most likely, Melancon will keep his closer's job for another week or two. He's saved seven of eight games since taking over for Grilli and has allowed just one run in 12 outings and 12 innings since July 24.
